When Thinvent was founded in 2007, our vision was to be a leader in embedded hardware and Linux based solutions. Today, we deliver a broad range of information technology solutions to industries as varied as transport, government, manufacturing, education and banking.

Thinvent builds rugged, reliable, hassle free computers that last much longer than the average desktop or laptop, even while facing the heat, dust and erratic power of India and Africa. We serve large organisations in sectors such as railways, BFSI, and logistics. Our computers are also valued by startups and educational institutions. Over the years our customers have given many repeat orders to us, and we are the exclusive or primary IT hardware vendor to many of them. This exemplifies the faith that our customers place in us.

While much of our revenue comes from the B2B segment, we are also a leader in the consumer segment. Today, the thin client of choice of Indian educational instutions is the Thinvent Micro 5, a quad core 1.5 GHz computer with 2 gigabytes of memory, and wireless, ethernet and bluetooth connectivity. It supports Zoom and Google Meet, and lets students comfortably attend classes, conduct online research and finish assignments.

Our products have frequently been bestsellers on Amazon. We support home and small business customers across the vastness of India, through our network of dealers and service partners.

We work hard to reduce the environmental impact of our computers. We replace a typical 10 kilogram computer that consumes 50 watts of power and has a supply chain that winds round and round the Earth, with a 200 gram, 5 watt computer built with components sourced from our thirty odd suppliers spread across Delhi/NCR (and some crucial help from our friends in Taiwan). Even those 200 grams, we choose carefully to have the least impact on the planet, and then fastidiously recycle at the end of the computer’s life.
